Recently, a netizen named Charles Lester Nerizon Poscablo shared that he and his friends decided to buy a new pair of Vans sneakers for their fellow friend.

According to him, they thought of doing so since the pair their friend was wearing were tattered and full of holes. As such, he can’t really wear it regularly without being embarrassed.

Poscablo and his friends decided to save up for a new pair of Vans sneakers so that they could replace the one their friend owned. He captioned his post with “Bayanihan” as a way to refer to their voluntary act of kindness.

“Bayanihan” refers to people helping each other out to achieve something with cooperation, unity and pooled resources. Apparently, Poscablo thought that what he and friends did counts as “bayanihan.”

Of course, many netizens lauded them for their kindheartedness. Some of their comments were ” True friend talaga sila,” “Ang bait nman ng mg kakaibigan na yan .. ” and “May malasakit sila.. True friends,” among others.

There were also some who jokingly said that they needed new pairs of shoes. A netizen added that Poscablo and his friends just imitated their “system.” She probably referred to how Poscablo and friends saved up enough money to buy something for a friend in need.

Poscablo also accompanied his post with a video that documented how he and his friends paid for the new Vans sneakers. The old pair that their friend had was a faded and worn gray color.

However, when they bought new ones, they decided to buy a red pair to brighten up his life over the drab gray pair he had before.

In the first few seconds of the video, their friend seemed extremely overwhelmed by the kind gesture. One of them even noted that he shouldn’t cry.

Their friend laughed but it was evident that he was touched by their thoughtfulness. We’re not sure if they intended to do that for a special occasion (like a birthday) or if they really bought him Vans purely out of goodwill.
