Isang Bababe, nabulag matapos maglaro ng Mobile Game sa loob ng 24-oras na walang hintuan.

A 21-year-old woman from China has become partially blind after she spent 24 hours of non-stop playing a mobile game.

The woman who hid in the pseudonym Wu Xiaojing was said to have been multiplayer of a mobile game called Honour the Kings. She was enjoying playing when she suddenly felt something from her right eye.

She was rushed to the hospital in China and was later on diagnosed with an RAO or Retinal Artery Occlusion. The doctors who treated the woman said that is a condition found in the elderly, but for her case, it was caused by eye strain from getting her eyes glued to the screen for too long.

The woman told the local press that she became too addicted to the mobile game that she would end up playing it in the evening after work and doing the same thing all day long during the weekends.

“On days when I have no work, I usually get up at 6am, eat breakfast and play until 4pm,” she told the South China Morning Post .

“Then I’ll eat something, have a nap and play until 1am,” she said.

“Sometimes I would be so absorbed in the game that I would forget to eat, and not listen to my parents when they told me it’s time for dinner.”

She also said that a typical game would let her spend seven up to eight hours.

According to the reports, she’s still in the hospital and the doctors are still trying to save her eyesight after it was damaged by her smartphone.

The honor of Kings is a historical mobile game that already has 200 million registered players in China alone.

Meanwhile, the doctors recommended everyone who is playing a mobile game to take a break every half an hour to prevent further damage to their eyesight.

“This should be a warning signal to anyone out there who still thinks gaming can’t be addictive. Gaming absolutely is addictive,” said Alistair Mordey, programme director at The Cabin Group.

“Like any other addiction, it works by stimulating dopamine in the brain. In 2013 internet gaming was actually included in section 3 of the DSM (the psychiatrist’s bible) which means that it will soon join gambling as the only non-drug addiction which is officially recognized,” he told Mirror Tech.

“In China where the problem is particularly bad, there is a network of internet internment camps for teens. These are not rehabs, they are prisons. That is how serious the problem is. So the warning is ‘if you think gaming is not addictive – think again’.

“Given the fact that there have been a number of high profile murders associated with parents trying to stop their kids playing games (not just in Asia but also in the States) we should be making the connection by now that there is a serious problem looming. Asia is definitely hit worst but maybe we’re next,” he said.
