Only this November when Maine Mendoza made the headlines following her controversial open letter. In a post she put up on her Twitter account was a three-part message to her fans, particularly AlDub fans, wherein she confessed that she’s not okay with how some of them are imposing certain high expectations on her and on-screen partner Alden Richards. Since then, she hasn’t been seen on the noon-time show “Eat Bulaga!”

While the whole storm should revolve around the Dubsmash Queen, some of the co-hosts were associated in the controversy. Last week, hardcore supporters assumed Ruby Rodriguez‘s tweet about loyalty pertaining to a telecom network was a jab at Maine. The former was astounded at how enthusiastic the fans were, and quickly dispelled the rumors that she’s throwing shade on the young actress.

This prodded PEP to ask “Eat Bulaga!” Bossing Vic Sotto on his take on the issue during the presscon of his Metro Manila Film Fest entry “Meant To Beh“.

As a seasoned artist in showbiz, Vic proceeded by saying that overwhelming response from “irresponsible users” in social media should be expected by celebrities.

However, the Bossing is keeping his faith in the AlDub loveteam.

“Wala namang makakabuwag dun. AlDub si AlDub. “Bakit, yung Guy & Pip ba, kinalimutan niyo na? Hindi, hindi naman. Nandiyan na yun, forever na nandiyan na yun. Nakatatak na sa mga puso natin. Hindi na mawawala yun.”

It seems like Vic is at odds with Maine’s approach on the matter. Well, until the actress breaks her silence, we’ll have to see how everything will unfold in the upcoming days.
