Last week, Maine Mendoza was involved in a slew of controversies after she posted an open letter addressing her fans, particularly the AlDub supporters, on Twitter. After expressing her gratitude, she confessed that she hasn’t been feeling comfortable for a while now with how they’ve been treating her and her love team partner. She felt they were being disrespectful to both her personal life and showbiz career. Much to the disappointment of many fans, Maine revealed that she’s only friends with on-screen partner Alden Richards as well. The two haven’t appeared on the noon-time show “Eat Bulaga!” since. In light of the event, some hardcore fans have fanned the issue after assuming that co-host Ruby Rodriguez‘s tweet about loyalty pertains to the Dubsmash Queen.
The said tweet was actually regarding to her receiving a loyalty reward from her subscription to a telecom network. It reads:
“Loyalty is not a sign of weakness but of true character???? it shall not go unrewarded???? Thank you Globe, Christmas is here???????? #GlobeIPhoneX”
The tweet didn’t sit well with fans of Maine, and said that the quote was too accurate to be a coincidence. It would turn out that it was an Instagram post shared to her Twitter account, so the whole caption wasn’t available to the tweet. Here are some of their replies:
