There has been a long-standing rivalry between the Philippines’ two largest networks ABS-CBN and GMA Network, which often causes a division between their talents and fans. However, many Kapamilya and Kapuso fans were surprised when Vice Ganda and Maine Mendoza (both headliners for their respective noontime shows) were seen together for the first time.
Vice is a TV host for ABS-CBN variety show “It’s Showtime” while Maine is part of GMA-7 noon-time show “Eat Bulaga“. Both are known for spicing up the shows with their funny personalities and skits.
It was actor-host JM Rodriguez who put up Vice and Maine’s photo together in a bar in Bonifacio Global City yesterday night, November 25. He wrote the caption:
“About last night [heart emoji] @mainedcm @praybeytbenjamin”

The post has reached over 18,000 likes and almost 400 comments from the netizens as of writing, and caused quite a stir from their huge fan bases.
Many of them were happy to see the all-smiles TV hosts together in one photo.

Some of them, however, took the opportunity to criticize either Vice or Maine.

It was May this year when Vice reportedly uploaded an Instagram selfie together with Maine’s on-screen partner Alden Richards in the 48th Box Office Entertainment Awards.
The comedian was on full “fangirl” mode over the “Pambansang Bae”, saying he was super handsome.
Aside from hosting, the two have endeavors in other fields.
The “Unkabogable” star is a comedian, actor, endorser, fashion icon, and a recording artist. He has starred in his own blockbuster films “Petrang Kabayo” and “Praybeyt Benjamin“.

Meanwhile, the Queen of Dubsmash is an actress, internet personality, writer, endorser, and a recent author. She just released her first autobiographical book, “Yup, I Am That Girl” on October this year.

Both Maine and Vice show us that there is camaraderie and fellowship among artists, despite being from different networks.
