Filipinos who depend on public transportation must be so disheartened with the state of the country’s Metro Rail Transit (MRT). It has broken down multiple times, inconveniencing thousands of commuters daily. The silver lining is that we get to see good people helping each other out, like a female security guard helping offloaded passengers.

ABS-CBN’s Facebook account reported that the notorious public transportation asked its passengers to alight the trains due to an electrical failure.The train stopped between Shaw Boulevard and Ortigas, forcing the passengers to walk back to Ortigas station.

Thankfully, a kind female security guard helped some passengers off the train to go back to the previous station. ABS-CBN posted the viral picture of the security guard assisting an elderly woman who had a hard time getting through the train’s railings.

It was a kind act that definitely lightened the heavy and irritating situation of the MRT. But netizens cannot contain their anger over the government’s inability to fix the situation. Most of the comments in this post were condemning the inept public officials who cannot provide a decent alternative while these recurring problems with the MRT are happenings.
