Richard Juan, nagbigay ng reaksyon sa ginawa ni Robin Padilla sa kapwa niya Koreano!

The criticisms just keep coming! Netizens are still ranting about the recent comment Robin Padilla gave to Pilipinas Got Talent contestant Jiwan Kim. The veteran action star told the Korean contestant that he should speak Filipino, seeing as he has been living in the country for 10 years. Robin’s remark accumulated mixed reactions from Filipinos all over. Some were praising the actor for his show of patriotism, while others claimed the actor projected a hostile sense of nationalism. Some people simply slammed the actor for humiliating the Korean contestant. Many netizens had plenty to say and weren’t afraid to voice their stance towards this issue. Model, events host, and TV personality Richard Juan was simply at a loss for words!

Richard took to Twitter to express his reaction to the Robin Padilla controversy. On January 14, 2018, he tweeted,

Netizens expressed their respective responses to the tweet. These netizens claimed that Robin Padilla’s remarks affected them.

Meanwhile, a Twitter user pressed that what Robin said was nothing more than an act of public humiliation.

On the other hand, another netizen thought that everyone should show kindness to one another “for the sake of humanism.”

For those of you outside the know, Richard Juan is a local celebrity of Chinese descent. Richard was born on August 22, 1992 in the Philippines but his family moved to Hong Kong when he was only a month old. He studied at the University of the Philippines and graduated cum laude with a degree in Broadcast Communication.

Richard joined Eat Bulaga’s “You’re My Foreignoy” back then wherein he instantly became the crowd’s favorite. It is a contest particularly made for foreigners currently residing in the Philippines. He won as the “Dabarkad’s Choice Award.” He also joined ABS-CBN’s reality show Pinoy Big Brother 737, wherein he was deemed as the “Charming Chinito ng Parañaque.”

Richard is proof that Filipinos can learn to appreciate a foreigner’s talent – regardless of where they come from or what language they speak.
