Kapuso star Maine Mendoza is just like your ordinary funny friend who loves watching viral clips on the Internet, even if they’re from rival network shows.

The ‘Dubsmash Queen’ took to Twitter in reposting a hilarious clip she found on Kapamilya host Luis Manzano’s Instagram last January 4. She tweeted, “Para sa mga nalulungkot..” and shared the link to the short video.

According to showbiz website PEP, the footage was taken from ABS-CBN’s reality show “I Can See Your Voice” that recently went viral on social media.

In the video, one contestant was recalling her story of being bullied in school as students called her “aswang” back in elementary school.

Comedian Bayani Agbayani, one of the show’s ‘sing-vestigators’, said that he was able to relate to the girl’s story and began to tell his own tale.

“Ang nanay ko dati, talagang tinatawag siyang Aswang,” Bayani said as dramatic background music played. “Sabi ko, ‘Nay bat ba sinasabing aswang kayo?’”

“Alam mo niyakap lang niya ako ng mahigpit tapos naiyak siya,” he remembered, near tears.

The camera panned to show some of the audience members’ reactions to Bayani’s story while his fellow artistas were getting misty-eyed as well.

With great comedic timing, Bayani dropped the punchline when he quipped, “Tapos lumipad na siya!”

Some of Maine’s fans found the clip funny too. In fact, they didn’t mind if the clip came from ABS-CBN. There were other netizens who pointed out that the young host has a knack for making people smile, claiming that Maine is their ‘gamot’ for sadness.

One wrote, “Hoy! ABS yan pero natawa ko ha hahaha!”

Her Twitter post also turned viral, thanks to her avid fans. As of writing, her tweet amassed almost 16,000 likes and gathered 1,200 comments. Moreover, it was reposted more than 3,500 times on the micro-blogging site.

It looks like ‘Yaya Dub’ hasn’t really lost her touch or her loyal fanbase after releasing a three-page open letter addressed to AlDub fans. Despite her month-long hiatus to let off steam following the controversial letter, Maine is definitely back to continue making others smile.
