GMA-7 anchor Kara David recently tied the knot with her fiancé, singer-songwriter LM Cancio on January 6 in a solemn ceremony in Pampanga. And just like a true-blue documentary journalist, Kara shared some of her thoughts while on the way to the wedding ceremony.

On Instagram, the reporter took a short video of herself inside the bridal car going to St. James the Apostle Parish in Betis, Pampanga. Looking directly at her phone’s camera, Kara happily said, “Here we go! Ikakasal nako! See you soon!”

While giddily laughing, she panned the camera to show other people inside the car with her.

As of writing, the clip has racked up almost 34,000 views since it was posted on January 6. In the comments section, online users sent their heartfelt congratulations and well-wishes to the newlyweds.

Kara’s colleagues from the GMA newsroom shared snippets from the low-key but beautiful wedding. Ivan Mayrina posted a photo of the radiant bride in her elegant gown before walking down the aisle.

According to the GMA News report, Mariz Umali said the ceremony was “beautiful and solemn” on Twitter, while Sandra Aguinaldo shared a peek of the couple’s heartfelt exchange of vows on Instagram.

Right after the intimate church ceremony, Kara and LM snapped a selfie together – a first as Mr. and Mrs. Cancio. Kara wrote a brief but meaningful caption: “Kasal na kami!”

On the photo-sharing platform, Kara continued to offer glimpses of their fun-filled wedding reception. In a picture that showed Kara and LM dancing together, the Kapuso report wrote: “Perfect night with the perfect man. Everything is beautiful in God’s perfect time. Salamat po Panginoon.”

After a long day of celebrating their union, the newlyweds appeared exhausted but expressed their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made time for them. Her caption read: “Nakauwi na ang lahat ng bisita. Nailigpit na lahat ng gamit. Yahoo! We did it! Salamat sa lahat ng aming kaibigan at pamilya. Sa aming suppliers! Thank you for making our wedding perfect and truly unforgettable!”

It was back in 2015 when Kara and LM officially became a couple. Their unlikely relationship began way back as schoolmates at the University of the Philippines Integrated School, and also shared a common passion for biking and mountain climbing.
