After Maine Mendoza released an open letter to her fans via her Twitter account, the public has been speculating whether she will remain on the local showbiz industry or not. After all, she is one of GMA Network’s most beloved fans. Why would she quit? “Eat Bulaga” host Vic Sotto has aired his comments about her supposed exit on showbiz, particularly on the noontime show.

In an interview with Philippine Entertainment Portal, Vic Sotto said that Maine is not yet officially out of showbiz. He said that the Kapuso sensation is just on a vacation. According to him:

“Ang alam ko, nakabakasyon siya. I’m not really in the know, I’m not privy to anything na personal niyang desisyon. Kasi, para sa akin, kung ano man yun… respetuhin na lang natin kung ano man yung mga issues niya, kung ano man yung mga pinagdadaanan niya. Siya lang nakakaalam dun. I’m not privy to anything personal pagdating sa kanya.”

The source asked Vic if he felt that Maine was going through something prior to her vacation. He answered:

“Kasi hindi naman kami masyado nagkikita, e. Most of the time, nasa barangay siya, nasa studio kami. Parang once a week lang kami nagkakasama sa studio, e, kapag Saturdays. Ako, personally, wala akong nararamdaman.”

Unfortunately, the veteran comedian does not have any clue about the specific date of Maine returning to “Eat Bulaga.” He simply replied, “I don’t know, you can ask Mr. [Tony] Tuviera, wala rin akong alam dun.”

Vic Sotto also denied that Maine was allegedly suspended from the noontime show. He said:

“Definitely not. Ba’t naman isususpende siya ng TAPE, ‘no, ng Eat Bulaga? Lalo na kay Mr. Tuviera, respetado niya ‘yang opinyon, pag-iisip, at kung anuman ang pinagdadaanan ng bawat kasama namin sa Dabarkads.”

Meanwhile, he disclosed that the AlDub love team would always be there. He answered:

“E, yun lang naman pagkakaalam ko, wala naman talaga akong alam, e. Yung love team, hindi naman talaga mawawala na yun, e. Andun na yun habang buhay. So, antayin na lang natin ang mga kasunod na kabanata.”

In a previous report, it was cited that Maine was supposedly in the United States to spend her vacation.
