TAPE and APT Entertainment boss Tony Tuviera revealed that the three grandmothers or “lolas” from Eat Bulaga!’s Kalyeserye will be going on a hiatus starting this January 2018. Apparently, Lola Nidora, Lola Tinidora, and Lola Tidora will be leaving the show but they will be preparing for a much bigger surprise in the future.
“Magpapahinga na muna ang mga lola, kumbaga, they will be hosting the segment (Sugod Bahay/All For Juan, Juan For All) as themselves, and expect more exciting surprises from them,” Mr. Tuviera explained.
The segment has the longest airtime on the noontime show with the three characters portrayed by comedians Wally Bayola, Jose Manalo, and Paolo Ballesteros – joined by the Phenomenal loveteam Maine Mendoza and Alden Richards.
According to a report by Bandera, the three comedians will host the show as themselves in the future!
Mr. Tuviera also revealed that they are preparing the Kalyeserye trio to be the next Tito, Vic, and Joey or TVJ since the three hosts have been in the industry for 38 years now. After all, TVJ can’t be there forever.
Mr. Tony Tuviera, however, still wishes that Tito, Vic, and Joey could last for a few more years since “iba pa rin talaga yung magic nila.”
“Hindi mo masabi kung sinong papalit sa kanila habang nandiyan sila. Kumbaga, institusyon, e,” Mr. Tuviera said, referring to the three veterans. He adds that Vic Sotto might be the only from the original trio to continue with the hosting since he’s the youngest of the three.
“Siya yung pinakabata, e. At kumbaga parang siya yung face (ng EB).” The boss said, adding: “Saka siyempre, iba talaga yung charisma niya.”
Vic is only 63 years old while Tito and Joey are 69 and 71 years old respectively.
