ITO NA SI CARROT MAN MAKALIPAS ANG MAHIGIT ISANG TAON!

A year ago, a photo of a man who carries a basket full of carrots from the Mountain Province went viral on social media. Netizens claimed that he had stolen their hearts because of his charming, innocent and handsome face.

This man is identified as Jeyrick Sigmaton, and he is clueless that he was known all over social media as “Carrot Man”. Because of this opportunity, he has been invited to several interviews and TV appearances, and some commercials or modelling. But after a year, where is he now? What had become of him?

Jeyrick currently lives in Baguio City, from the very timid and innocent looking man, he now looks confident and more comfortable with the crowd. According to his interview, “Hindi na ako nagbubuhat ng carrot atleast marami akong nakikilalang mga tao.” He still receives invites on local and international events. Aside from the change in his personality, his once long hair is also changed, he shared that he just kept his hair long in their province because of the cold weather compared with the weather temperature in Baguio.
From the income he receives, he used this to help on the education of his siblings at the same time he enrolled in a home schooling to finish his high school diploma. He also wants to continue his showbiz career that’s why he’s working out on his physique and maybe he might become an action star in the future.

One thing he is thankful about this opportunity is when he was able to introduce the culture of their tribe. He is also being sent as representative of their tribe whenever there is some exhibitions to be conducted. He also writes and sings on their dialect.
Through Carrot Man, a writer was inspired to write about a series using him as the lead character entitled, Finding Carrot Man, published by Precious Hearts Romances Series written by “Sofia”.

A fan from Cabuyao, Laguna who had admired Carrot Man was given a chance to meet him and traveled to Baguio to see him and give the poem she has written.
The social media really gives a great influence and opportunity to be discovered and known to the public. But one good thing about Jeyrick Sigmaton, aka Carrot Man is he still remains humble, not only with the purpose of becoming a famous celebrity but he uses it as a way of preserving and sharing his culture to the nation and to the world.
