Mga Netizens, TinAG si Maine Mendoza sa Post ni Vice Ganda sa Social Media!

Fans of Maine Mendoza and other netizens alike have been tagging the actress in Vice Ganda’s tweet from November 28th, which reads: “Pssssst!!! Mahaba pa ang araw. Madami kang haharapin. Alam kong stressed ka na. Gusto ko lang sabihin sa’yo na kaya mo ‘yan. Smile!”.

While the tweet itself did not directly address anyone, it was obvious that it was meant to inspire and encourage someone who had or was currently was having a rough time. However, netizens were too quick to jump to the conclusion that the tweet was meant for Maine Mendoza. This was because just two days before the said tweet, Maine posted an open letter which drew flak not just from her fans but from netizens as well.

In the open letter, Maine primarily talked about how she feels unhappy because she no longer has the freedom to do what she wants to do despite all of her blessings. She said she was tired of having people dictate her actions, and it no longer gives her joy to cater to what other people want rather than what she wants for herself.

She asked her fans and the people closest to her to give her back her freedom, because this time, she is choosing herself – she is choosing her own happiness over everyone else’s. This resulted in people bashing the actress for being ‘being ungrateful’ and ‘acting like a selfish little brat’. Maine said she accepts all these and that she does indeed deserve all the hate in the world.

Despite losing supporters and gaining a lot of bashers, Maine received overwhelming support from co-celebrities who came to her defense and who expressed their admiration for the actress. The most recent celebrity to do so was Comedy Queen Ai-Ai Delas Alas through an Instagram post. This might be why Maine’s fans assumed that Vice Ganda’s tweet was a message of support for the actress as well.
