Jake Ejercito has long been linked to “Eat Bulaga!” host Maine Mendoza a.k.a Yaya Dub after many netizens and AlDub fans alike speculated that it was the latter who was spotted in one of the former’s Instagram stories.
The viral photo seemed like a worst nightmare for the avid supporters of the “Eat Bulaga’s” phenomenal love team. Thus, ever since the rumors broke out, Jake has been targeted of many haters and bashers which really getting worse. Some netizens outrageously dragged her little girl with ex-girlfriend Andi Eigenmann into the malicious issue.
Following Maine’s open letter to her fans where she poured her heart out and admitted the real nature of her relationship with co-star and love team partner Alden Richards, Jake recently spoke up about the controversial issue where he was spotted with the Kapuso star in a certain bar.
In an exclusive interview, Jake denied the rumors that he and Maine were on a date when they were seen together at the Revel Bar. “Maine and I were in a group having fun, so I wouldn’t consider it a date. For me, it is a date if there’s only the two of you, the two of us,” he clarified.
Jake also stressed that “Maine is just a friend,” and that he is not yet ready to be in a romantic commitment. They have worked together during the booming episodes of AlDub Kalyeserye – a skit on “Eat Bulaga’s” Juan for All, all for Juan segment where he appeared as the third wheel.
Despite the malicious issues which have been making rounds on social media, a handful of Yaya Dub’s fans showed her support and unconditional love.
Meanwhile, Alden who was mentioned in the open letter, hasn’t shared his thoughts yet.
