Isang OFW galing Dubai, nagpanggap bilang Service Crew upang Surpresahin ang kanyang mga Anak.

One of the hardest things in having a family member work abroad is the separation, especially of a parent to his/her children. It is such a significant tradeoff that sometimes, parents forego the opportunity to earn and just bear the hard life in the country. To endure the loneliness and strangeness of being in another country, an OFW is deemed brave and laudable. And a reunion will always be heartfelt and touching. Just take the case of this OFW dad from Dubai who surprised his daughters in one of their fastfood trips.

On Facebook, a certain Juv P. Montaner shared a clip of the moving reunion between her nieces with their OFW dad, but there is a short story behind it.

According to Juv, her brother-in-law has been in Dubai for more than three years as a nurse but hadn’t come home once since then. On the other hand, her sister – her nieces’ mother named Reizl – is studying for her doctorate degree in Marawi City.

When the siege broke out, her nieces moved and stayed with Juv in Iligan City to keep them safe, even traveling for 10 hours to escape. Prior to their life in Marawi, the children, Breanna and Chayyen, lived in Bohol and survived the devastating earthquake.

But nothing beats the hardship of being separated from their parents for years.

For Breanna, all she wanted for her 8th birthday is to see her family complete. In her own words, Breanna uttered a heartfelt prayer: “Mommy Juv, I will pray million times because Daddy told me he might come home.”

When Glenn, the brother in law, called Juv to tell her that he’s coming home, he wanted to surprise his children by disguising himself as one of the fastfood crew. Fortunately, he was allowed by the branch manager to wear the cap worn by the staff to hide his identity.

He was allowed to bring the order to their table, and as he was distributing the food, his kids didn’t notice at first – until Breanna saw the handmade bracelet for their dad.

Slowly realizing that her wish had come true, Breanna appeared to exclaim “Daddy!” and immediately hugged him.

It was indeed a tearful reunion at a place where ‘Bida ang saya’ is its tagline.

According to Kicker Daily, the bracelet was Glenn’s source of comfort whenever he’s sad in Dubai. He reportedly doesn’t take it off.
