What probably makes Ai-Ai even cooler, however, is the fact that she stood up for Maine Mendoza and expressed her support and admiration for the actress. This was after Maine’s open letterwent viral, drawing flak from a number of netizens.

In her open letter, Maine primarily talked about how she feels unhappy because she no longer has the freedom to do what she wants to do despite all of her blessings. She said she was tired of having people dictate her actions, and it no longer gives her joy to cater to what other people want rather than what she wants for herself.

The actress also asked her fans and the people closest to her to give her back her freedom, because this time, she is choosing herself – she is choosing her own happiness over everyone else’s. She said she felt like she was living in a box, not being able to say or do what she really wants because people keep invalidating her feelings.

The letter drew mixed reactions from netizens, with some supporting her decision, while others were quick to dismiss her feelings. Some even went as far as to say she deserves to be hated for being a coward and a selfish little brat.
