KINILIG SI MEGASTAR SHARON CUNETA KAY PRESIDENT DIGONG DAHIL DITO!

“Ika-6 Na Utos” star Gabby Concepcion has since forgiven President Rodrigo Duterte for wrongly mentioning his name instead of the ABS-CBN Corporation’s CEO, Gabby Lopez III.

On Tuesday, September 26, President Duterte fumed on the Kapamilya network’s chief for allegedly not airing his political advertisements during last year’s election period despite his supposed payments. However, the president mistakenly referred to Concepcion instead of Lopez.

The Kapuso actor, as well as most online users, just laughed it off as a response. On his Twitter account, he also stated, “We all make mistakes. Thank you for watching Ika-6 na Utos sir President.”

Interestingly, during the incident, the surname of Concepcion must have reminded the president of the actor’s former spouse, ‘Megastar’ Sharon Cuneta. President Duterte then shared that Cuneta was his daughter’s, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, favorite singer and had wanted to meet her during her younger years.

“Si Inday, when she was Grade 6, Grade 5, sabi ko: ‘Anak, anong gusto mong birthday gift?’ Sabi niya: ‘Gusto ko magkasama kami ni Sharon Cuneta,’” President Duterte said.

The president then thanked Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilan, Cuneta’s current husband, for assisting their meetup.

“Pangilinan is my friend at may utang na loob ako sa kanya. I had to call Senator Pangilinan: ‘Senator, I owe you for doing this [for] my daughter. I respect you,’” he said.

Meanwhile, Cuneta expressed her ~kilig~ after she was mentioned by the highest leader of the land. On a Facebook post, the veteran actress said she was pleased to know that the president cited her.

She wrote, “All politics aside – into which I have unfortunately been dragged by mere association to my Senator-hubby’s work:) Thank you, Mr. President Duterte, Sir, for what you said on the news about me and my friend Mayor Inday Sara last night. May God bless you , Sir! (So “kilig!” Might be an inappropriate word, everyone – but hey, it’s how I feel!)”

However, Cuneta’s comments section fired up a discussion among netizens mostly questioning the president’s motive behind calling Senator Pangilinan his ‘friend.’ The ‘Megastar’ then called out for peace.

“Everyone let’s aim for peace here. Doesn’t matter. We know they are on opposing sides. But I appreciate the President’s respect for him, and me, and my friendship with Inday Sarah which started long before anyone knew Pres. Duterte was going to run for his present position,” she stated.
