If you’ve been spending a lot of time on the Internet lately or have a passion for OPM, then you probably have heard of this local rap group who recently shot to fame. You can hear them everywhere — from your daily jeepney rides to the hottest parties in the metro. A group of 12 rappers who want to make a name for themselves, this hip-hop collective has taken over the country by storm. In fact, a student was so inspired by one of their songs that he used their lyrics as his answer to a school assignment! Yes, this student wrote the lyrics of Ex-Battalion’s “Hayaan Mo Sila” lyrics when his teacher assigned a seat work for his class!
A teacher named Daisy Cruz Intervalo recently took to Facebook to share one of her students’ brilliant (and funny) answer to an activity she gave her class. In the activity, Daisy asked her students to choose one sentence from Emma Watson’s famous UN speech about feminism and equality and explain it.
One student chose the perfect sentence and wrote, “Both men and women should feel free to be strong.”
Very empowering and moving, right? Well, this student definitely thought so. In fact, he seemed to have been so moved by the word “strong” that he was reminded of Ex-Battalion’s “Hayaan Mo Sila” lyrics and completely lifted a part of it to justify his answer.
In the explanation part, the student wrote:
“Mapa babae man o lalaki ay kailangan bigyan ng kalayaan na maging strong sa bawat hamon na kanilang haharapin dito sa mundong ibabaw at ang mga problema dapat ay hindi iniinda, hayaan mo silang maghabol sa iyo ‘di ba?”
Upon reading her student’s answer, Daisy immediately marked the paper and wrote a comment with every teacher’s signature red pen:
“Sinasabi ko sa iyo lahat yan nagloloko..kaya wag ng uulit pa..kaya wag ng uulit pa..EX B! OC Dawgs!”
Apparently, Daisy was also a fan (or at least knew the lyrics) to the viral Ex-B song! In fact, she was so amused by her student’s answer that she gave him a perfect score!
Netizens, of course, sounded off in the comments section and praised the teacher for her epic response:
